Rule

Whenever
This
Topic
of
Desire,
Love
and
Joy
Gets
Raised,
immediately
Its
opposing topic
comes
in,
and
starts
pummelling
in the
midst
of
our
mind.
It
says,
then -
why
are there
so
many
rules
and
bondages?
Why
do we
not
get
what
we want,
why
something
that
we do not
want
comes
and
falls
on our
shoulders?

Here,
human
beings
have tried
to
answer
this question -
not by
argumentation,
but
only
by
Faith.
They1
have said:
Sa Eva Bandhurjanitaa Sa Vidhaataa2.
That
is to
say -
He
Who
Has
Revealed
me -
'Sa Eva Bandhuh';
He,
verily,
Must
Be
my friend.
If
in me
His
Joy
Did
Not
Exist,
then
I,
verily,
would
never
have
existed.
And
again,
'Sa Vidhaataa'.
Vidhaataa -
The
Ruler
Is
no second one;
He
Who
Is
Janitaa -
The
Progenitor -
He
Himself
Is
Bandhuh -
The
Friend -
and
He
Himself
alone
Is
the
Lord
of
Rulership.
Therefore,
Whatever
The Rule
May
Be,
at
Its
Root
there is
no
fear.

But,
if
This
Rule
Thing
Is
arbitrary,
then
it surely
does
not
work.
Today
one type
tomorrow
another
type,
for me
one
type,
for
others
another
type -
when
It Is
what type -
there
is
no
permanence
to that -
this,
verily,
is
not
Rule.
The
Rule
Must
Be
Rule
for
The Universe.

In
the
Unbroken
Thread
of
This
Rule,
from
the
dust
of
This
Earth
to
The
Realm
of
Stars -
They
Are
Strung
together.
For
my
own
happiness
and
convenience,
if
I say:
'Please
Break
The
Thread
of
Your
Rule
in
one place,
in
one
place
with
all others
Please
Make
a
special difference
of
my
rule',
then
effectively
what is
said,
is:
'My
clothes
are
getting
soiled
to
go
across
this
little patch
of
mud;
therefore,
breaking
the
Thread
of
Union
of
the
Necklace
of This
Cosmic Egg
into pieces,
Please
Scatter
all
the
Suns
and
Moons
across
the
street.'

This
Rule
Thing
Is
no
one's
private
property,
and
Does
Not
Belong
to
a particular
piece
of
time;
it
is
verily
in
the
Union
of
This
Universal
Rule
that
with
The Whole -
each
of
us
is
connected,
and
That
Union
Has
no
breach
in
any
age.
The
Upanishads
Have
Said,
He
Who Is
The
Lord
of
the
Universe,
He
'Yaathaatathyatorthaan Vyadadhaat Shaashvatiibhyah Samaabhyah'3.
From
Eternal
Time,
and
for
Eternal
Time -
He
Is
Ruling,
verily,
everything -
in
an
exact
manner.
At
the
Root
of
This
Rule
Is
Everlasting
Time -
This
Rule
Is
The Rule
of
beginning-less,
end-less,
Time;
moreover,
This
Rule
Is
Being
Prescribed
'Yaathaatathyatah' -
exactly;
from
beginning
to
end
of This,
verily,
is
exact -
there
is
no
gap
anywhere -
no
inconsistency.
Modern
scientific
knowledge,
with
respect
to
the
Universal
Rule,
has
not
said
anything
more
forcefully
and
more
clearly
than
this.

But,
if
only
that
was the case,
if
He
Keeps
Sitting
only
in the
Form
of
Ruler -
only
on
the
iron
throne
of
infallible
rules,
then
in
front
of
That
Ruler,
we
really
become
equal
to
wood
and
stone,
dust
and
dirt -
like
grains
of
sand.
Then -
we
are
no
better
than
chained
prisoners.

But,
He
Is
Not
just
Ruler -
'Sa Eva Bandhuh' -
He
also
Is
the
Friend.

The
Manifestation
of
The Ruler
we
are
verily
seeing
in
This
Whole
Universe -
all
over
The
World;
where
is
the
manifestation
of
the Friend?
Manifestation
of
the
Friend
is
verily
not
in
the field
of
Rules -
that
manifestation
is
in the
midst
of
my heart,
in
the
field
of Love;
other
than
that,
where
else
shall
it
be?

The
Workplace
of
The
Ruler
Is
in
the
midst
of
This
Universal
Nature -
and
the
Abode
of
Joy
of the
Friend
Is
in
the
living
soul
of
mine.

On
one
side,
nature -
on
the
other,
soul;
human
beings,
on
one side
collect
taxes
for
The King,
on
the
other
they
decorate
their
tray
for
the Friend.
On
one
side
they
need
to obtain
welfare
with
the help
of
Truth;
on
another,
through
welfare
they
need
to
become
beautiful.

The
side
on
which
God's Will
Manifests
in
the Form
of
Rule -
on
that side
Is
Nature;
and
the side
on
which
God's
Desire
Manifests
in
the Form
of
Joy -
on
that side
is
soul.
The
nature
of
This Nature
is
bondage,
and
the
nature
of
soul
is
Liberation.
This
Truth
and
Joy,
This
Bondage
and Liberation -
Are
His
Left
and Right
Arms.
It
is
verily
with
These
Two
Arms
that
He
Has
Contained
Humanity.

The
side
on which
I
am
equal
to
bricks
and wood
and trees
and
stones,
on
that
common
side
the
All-pervading
Rule
of
God -
in
no way
Allows
me
to
be separated
from
the
common -
even
by a trace;
and
the side
on
which
I
am
'I'
in
a
special
way,
on
that
side
of
Freedom -
God's
Special Joy
in
no
way,
verily,
Allows
me
to
mingle
with
all.
The Ruler
Has
Made
me
of all,
and
the
Friend
Has
Made
me
His own;
the
content
of
that
all
is
my
nature,
and
That
Content
of
His Own
Is
my
living
soul.
